I Heart Faces ~ Furry Faces

This is Eddy. A seven year old Irish Wolfhound I had the joy of photographing this past summer. The most gentle giant, fun loving fella. He was so fun to take pictures of and in this image he was galloping around the beach like a horse and I am pretty sure he was smiling in this photo. He was quite comical!!

So it is Pets Wee over at I Heart Faces with a Furry Faces photo challenge and for me it has been faarrrr to long since I have entered a picture in one of their weekly photo challenges. We had a cold, cold morning for this session. But I adore this couple and their sweet new baby boy so the cool air really didn't matter.

These little darlings are twin sisters. Unbelievably adorable and very much adored. This was one of those sessions when I love, love, love being a photographer.

A senior at Alpena High School. Polite. Genuine. Happy. Love of the outdoors. Yep, that is Gabe.

When his mom set up his senior session with me she asked if taking pictures of him on his water board on the lake would be okay. I am always up for new things, new places and new photography challenges. So yes. 100% I wanted to take these pictures for Gabe.

And probably one of my favorite high school senior sessions I have done this year. We had luck on our sides this day for weather. Mid-September in Northern Michigan can be very unpredictable weather wise. In fact the next day it was cloudy and quite cooler.

But to have the chance to ride in a speed boat and photograph someone gliding and jumping through waves on their water board? Oh yes! How completely fun is that! Gabe made it look so easy. And I almost want to try this. Except I haven't ever water skied in my life! I think I am better off in the boat with my camera.

Gabe is a fun guy to be around. All smiles. In fact when I asked for some serious face moments, he could not do it. Which made us all laugh and him smile more!

I left this session smiling myself. Taking pictures like this remind me why I love what I do.

Her look is 100% natural. So pure. All American. And so very lovely!

Sydney was very fun and incredibly easy to photograph. When I asked for a certain pose, an expression, she nailed it. Every time.

Such a bright young lady. Very sweet.

Meet Buddy

Meet Buddy.

You have to love those big ole' Bassett Hound ears! Oh sweet Buddy. My neighbors own him along with two Saint Bernard dogs. Buddy rules the farm though. Top dog for sure. I took pictures along with his "brothers" for his mom, who would be having a big surprise birthday planned by her husband this past Friday. And of course one of the surprises was a few pictures taken of her doggies.

I ordered her prints as standouts in 11 x 14 sizes. They turned out amazing! I can't wait to see these prints hanging up in their home.

I want her hair. It is so gorgeous. And she had the cutest bike ever! Her style is so fun and her smile is very contagious! What a beautiful girl!

Meet Aneesha.

Meet Aneesha.

Her India culture is very important to her and her family and when she asked me to photograph her in these beautiful dresses I was thrilled. Absolutely honored. I had taken her high school senior pictures in August and working with her was extremely easy and so very fun. She is such a natural in front of camera!

I am in awe of how gorgeous her India dresses are. The stunning embroidery, sheer, flowing material, vibrant colors and pure ethnic charm. Amazing.

For me to capture her beauty wearing these dresses truly brought about my creativity and passion as a photographer. Using nature's light and gorgeous beach setting proved to be just what I had hoped to create with her pictures.

This was very much a special and favorite session for me!

And of course, Aneesha, as an everyday high school senior!
